PUNO & FESTIVITY OF VIRGEN DE LA CANDELARIA TOUR PACKAGE

1^st DAY: RECEPTION AND TRANSFER FROM THE AIRPORT, TRAIN STATION OR BUS STATION TO YOUR HOTEL. 

Depending of your arrival time, we’ll be waiting for you (airport, bus station or train station) and then we’re going to take you to your hotel in the downtown of Puno.

2^nd DAY: LAKE TITICACA TOUR: UROS FLOATING ISLANDS AND TAQUILE ISLAND BY FAST BOAT.

Around 6:50 a.m. We’re going to pick you up from your hotel in Puno to take you to the main port of Puno, where we’ll take our boat and we’ll leave to Uros Floating Islands, where we’ll visit 2 islands. Then we’ll departure towards Taquile Island (1½ hour trip by fast boat) arriving at the port of Taquile and we walk through a scenic path towards the main village. On the way we’ll see the typical lifestyle of local people that still maintain their customs, traditions and religious rituals.

Once in Taquile island, we can visit the communal handicraft and discover the best weavers of the world. After lunch in a typical restaurant, families will perform a small demonstration of their textile and later we descend to the dock departing and come back to Puno around 3:30 pm.

3^rd DAY: CHUCUITO, INCA UYO AND SILLUSTANI TOUR

Around 9:00 a.m. We’ll pick you up from your hotel to go to Chucuito colonial town, known as "The City of the Royal Boxes", where is located the temple of Inca Uyo, which probably related with the fertility. Then we’re going to visit a small church located in main square of this village, the emblem of the Inquisition, which are represented a cross, the main viewpoint called “La Glorieta”, and the local Fish farming or pisciculture. We’re going to come back to Puno (You’ll have free time in Puno to have lunch on your own).

Around 2:00 p.m. We’re going to pick you up from your hotel and we’ll take the bus to visit Sillustani. The Chullpas of Sillustani are a collection of striking burial towers, here you can enjoy of the stunning highland landscapes and imposing pre-Inca architecture. Huge funerary towers are set strategically positioned on the top of a peninsula surrounded by a scenic Umayo lagoon. Then, we’ll come back to Puno, visiting a typical farmhouse on the way. After the visit return to Puno around 6:00 p.m.

4^th DAY: FESTIVITY OF VIRGEN DE LA CANDELARIA: INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE

The Festivity of Virgen de la Candelaria, celebrated each February in the city of Puno, includes activities of religious, festive and cultural character that draw on Catholic traditions and symbolic elements of the Andean worldview. It’s considered like an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel to take you to appreciate one of the most colorful and wonderful festivals in Peru. There are several thousand dancers dressed up in colorful outfits and musician bands playing during all the course across of streets of Puno. 

 Later, depending of your departure time, we’ll pick you up to take you to the airport of juliaca or bus station of Puno.
